Puma Golf's 2008 Collection is right on Par When it Comes to Style

December 2007 (Medialink) - Let's face it, golf apparel is not always considered the most chic and stylish. The goal is to be sophisticated and classy, yet you also want to add your own personal style to your outfit. After all, the better you look and feel, the better you play, right?

Actor and avid golfer Luke Wilson and Swedish golfing star Johan Edfors have teamed up with PUMA to create a new line of special edition golf products. Inspired by the 1950s when many golfers brought style and sophistication to the game, the company is launching a special chrome collection in two phases globally in April and July 2008. Both Wilson and Edfors helped create the line.

Most of us know Luke Wilson as the actor who played in movies like Old School and The Royal Tenenbaums, but few people are aware he was recently listed as one of the Top 40 Hollywood golfers by Golf Digest. Edfors made his 2007 Masters debut wearing a gold shoe and played the 2007 PGA Championship wearing camouflage. Both Wilson and Edfors will co-host a special golf exhibition tournament in California in early 2008 to celebrate the launch of the collection.

Talents/Guests: Johan Edfors, Professional Golfer
Johan is a Swedish golfer who plays primarily on the European Tour.  Edfors attended the University of Texas at San Antonio on a Division I athletic scholarship for men's golf. He played for the team for two years and turned professional in 1997. He spent several years playing the second tier Challenge Tour, but failed to make the top hundred on the Order of Merit until 2003, when he won twice and topped the Challenge Tour Order of Merit. Edfors narrowly failed to hold on to his tour card in 2004, but at the end of 2005 he regained it at the Final Qualifying School.  In 2006 he achieved a maiden European Tour win at the TCL Classic and quickly followed up by winning the more prestigious Quinn Direct British Masters and the Scottish Open. His three victories took him into the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings in July 2006 and he finished the year placed tenth on the Order of Merit.  Edfors is known for being a big hitter, averaging over 300 yards.

Native Texan Luke Cunningham Wilson is the son of an advertising executive and a photographer. He was raised with two brothers, Owen Wilson and Andrew Wilson. Though he would stick closely to comedy through 2001 with roles in Charlie's Angels and Legally Blonde, Wilson took a turn for the sinister in the thrillers Preston Tylk and Soul Survivors before re-teaming with his brother Owen Wilson and Wes Anderson to give one of his most memorable performances as Richie in The Royal Tenenbaums. In 2003, Wilson reprised two past roles, appearing in both Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde.  That same year, he also scored a hit as one of the stars of Old School.
