SCRIPT: Lifestyles, I'm Brian Osuch. With Daylight Saving around the corner, many Americans will soon be starting their days before sunrise, which can make waking up difficult. A recent Philips Electronics survey shows 60 percent of Americans aren't happy with how they wake up. Lifestyle Expert Sally Horchow says there may be a common reason why.
CUT: (Horchow) Light regulates the daily sleep/wake cycle. So while alarm clocks can be jarring, research shows a slow dawn effect positively impacts the quality of awakening, energy levels, and mood.
